A liitle about the repeater

Both repeaters are located HERE, on the roof of Bath University overlooking the historic city of Bath

GB3UB is the 70cm 433mhz voice repeater and operates on 433.100/434.700mhz, ctcss 118.8hz. It uses a converted Storno base station using G8CUL logic running 10w to two Jaybeam folded dipoles. It provides hand-held coverage around the city of Bath, out towards Chippenham, down towards Midsomer Norton and across towards Westbury. It is internet linked via Echolink (node no. 201135 )
MB7UB is the APRS data digipeater.

Starting to enjoy this.

Been back at work for a couple of months and now enjoying bus work. Most of the journeys now have plenty of time so no need to rush. Time to get off the bus, sit in the sun, read a book etc. No real problems with passengers, again with plenty of time you can explain things to passengers which greatly reduces the risk of confrontation. With the hot weather I am also glad not be driving into London and happy to sit in an (sometimes) air conditioned cab. For those of you who are interested the National Express contract will be transferred to South Gloucestershire at the beginning of August.

MB7UB Back on

OK it would seem that thanks to a helpful hand MB7UB is back on. Thanks to them. However as I said there is extensive work taking place on site, and all repeaters on site are at risk of interruptions.

MB7UB Update

MB7UB remains off air. The work on site means that access to the room where the repeaters are is almost impossible. Therefore it will remain off air until we have permission to access the site to move the equipment while the area is rewired. Hopefully there will be a chance of having some internet access which could open up some more possibilities.
